Friday was Take Your Dog to Work Day, and let’s face it, in the NT, that could be any day of the week! We have along history of pups on the job. Here is drover Col Bremner on the Barkly Tablelands in the early 1960s, midway through moving 160 horses from Larrimah to Biloela in Queensland, a mere 2500 kilometres. And he was well prepared for such a journey, with his rifle, pack, a horse named Wrinkes and Vincent his dog. Vincent was apparently near retirement age with badly worn paw pads, so Wrinkles had got into the habit of kneeling down when it was time for Vincent to get off.
