The Beard kids, Jason, Kim and Juliet, on their unexpected 'storm holiday' in Lismore in early 1975. After Cyclone Tracy hit Darwin on Christmas Eve, they were evacuated with their Mum, long-term Darwin resident Judy Beard, and and a whopping 670 other passengers on the record-breaking flight from Darwin to Sydney. They stayed in a caravan on a family property in Lismore while relief efforts continued in Darwin, returning to rebuild their lives two months later.
